Matt Flynn losing a quarterback competition is starting to become an annual thing. For the second year in a row, Flynn has lost a starting job to a less experienced player.
Terrelle Pryor will be the Raiders starting quarterback in Oakland's regular season opener against the Colts, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Raiders coach Dennis Allen informed Flynn and Pryor of the decision on Monday morning.

heard last week that his elbow was acting up again. this is what happened in sea. I also believe pryor will need to be replaced soon.

The raiders need a mobile QB with that awful offensive line. All things being equal, Flynn is the better QB.
If the 49ers had Flynn and Pryor on their roster, Flynn would likely be 1st string. The Raiders just have specific needs because of how pathetic they are.

I've come to realize that Flynn is just not a good QB on his own. If he doesn't have a legit WR squad or rock solid ol, he is useless. Other QBs in the league do well despite their WR squad. He's like Sam Bradford or Matt Cassel. Matt Cassel did great with the Patriots squad then when he only had Bowe in KC, he was shown to be less than mediocre.
I know you need WRs, but you can't make that excuse after 5 years and 2 teams.
I will say that he still has a chance to succeed because I don't think TP is the answer either.

With Terrelle Pryor at QB, Oakland will be lucky to win 2 games. This team is horrible. At least Matt Flynn won't get beaten to death behind that O-line.

Just lose, baby.
Raiders know they have a crappy OL. They want Pryor to be able to escape and make plays with his legs, but he's reckless. Flynn has actually completed 70% of his passes, Pryor under 60%.

It's funny that Flynn is better off not playing and if they had a better oline he would be. But for Jmarc he was just a lazy pos.

The Raiders are a dumpster fire, and I would fear for the future of his career if teams saw him running for his life and throwing 20+ INTs as the Raiders go 0-16, not to mention his safety and health
Better to sit this one out as the hIghest paid clipboard holder of all time for the second year in a row than the starting QB of the worst team of all time.
His time will come somewhere, but this is clearly not the situation for him.

Saw this coming a mile away, knew the Raiders were going to go with Pryor because their O Line is shite and Flynn will get killed. Pryor will too, but he will get killed outside the pocket.
