I've seen the trailers and wondering if its worth the read.
Note: I liked the Hunger Games trilogy.

I've read them. They get a little heavy on the teenage girl falling for a guy since it is told from her perspective, but good overall.

I stopped half way bc it was waaayyy too much "teenage girl".
It was an audio book though...maybe the reader just made it extra annoying.
Library has it for free on their overdrive app if you want to listen.

Well, I read about 5 chapters yesterday, and while the concept is interesting, I question if I'll continue. I will give it a couple more chapters.

She's a better writer than Collins.
I gave up on Hunger Games after the second one. I breezed through Divergent and Insurgent in a day and a half and really want to read the third.

I was about to start my own thread, but searched for this one. I read about 100 pages of Divergent, and this was the feeling I was starting to get. I read the Hunger Game books a couple years back at the request of my GF. The last book left such a bad taste in my mouth. I really started to get the same feeling after a while with this book.
Also, even though the premise of the Hunger Games is pretty ridiculous, I felt like it still made way more sense than the premise of Divergent. Even after wrapping your mind around the fact that these factions actually work, it made no sense to me that after being trained to be one way for 16 years, a person would just switch factions and completely abandon their family.
Anyway, I decided not to keep going. After reading the "teenage girl" issues, I think I made the right decision. One last thing. Maybe it is defined more as you read, but the whole Amity group just made no sense to me. The other groups serve some purpose, but this group is just around to be happy? Really? Why wouldn't everyone pick that faction?
