Yeah, the ending to The Sopranos was just fricking fantastic, and left everyone satisfied

The ending worked very well. The only people who wanted something different apparently were looking for something tied up in a nice bow so that they didn't have to use their head. And, yes, I liked the ending on the very night it happened. I was surprised . . . maybe a little disappointed for a few minutes . . . but after talking about it among the people I was with, we all came to sort of admire it. The fact that it's controversial and pisses people off makes it even more interesting to me.

And both series are very good.

Not for a show like The Sopranos

No, it wasnt hard to figure out what happened.

So, you all had to convince each other that it was good. That's pretty normal. It's gotten to the point that people have all done this with each other to the degree that they don't want to admit that it was a shite way to end the show in fear of basically being called dumb.

That's a seriously weak reason to like anything.

Again, how it ended did not fit with how the series had always been presented, period.

ETA: Everything you have said is basically excellent proof that the ending sucked.

Cliched rationalization. If that's the straw you have to grasp to convince yourself you're satisfied and at the same time bolster your own sense of superiority over the mediocre, have at it.

* Soprano Spoilers*

My only actual hard criticism with the Sopranos is with how they handled Bobby Baccala (sp). He was a real tender hearted guy who was forced into doing some things he wasn't comfortable with. He was past 40 and never killed anyone until Tony made him as revenge for beating him up.

I also didnt like that Baccala died but a ruthless murderer like Paulie survived the series. That upset me. Baccala had a child's heart as depicted by his obsession with Trains that was resented by Tony.

Still, Bobby Baccala was one of the few good guys in either series. I get upset everytime I watch Blue Comet.
