always liked the Live 8 performance with Coldplay
Yeah, sounds good.
Chris Martin must be the friendliest guy in the world. Most British musicians of note -- e.g., Ashcroft, the Gallagher brothers, Damon Albarn -- are raging assholes that do nothing but talk shite about each other. And then there's Chris Martin. He somehow managed to be friendly with all of them. He should go into international diplomacy when he's done doing the music thing.

In the Beatles thread, I was called everything short of a botched abortion, and this started from the get go.
Here, 3 pages in, and two people think the Stones have put out a good song in the last 3 decades. Not merely one person, but two people.
Sometimes you wanna go full bobbyray.

You'll be distressed to learn that you are actually in the minority position here.

1. There certainly doesn't appear to be an overwhelming outcry of support -- statements of heartfelt love for the Rolling Stones' music over the past three decades -- emanating from the many the posts in this thread.
2. Even if there was, I wouldn't give a rat's arse.

I also believe Fogerty put out a song called Zanz Can't Dance (about Zaentz) but there was some legal action with that song too. I think it was on the Centerfield album.
Talking about people who didn't get credit for stuff... hell that happened in the Stones. It was Brian Jones who wrote most of Ruby Tuesday but Andrew oldham (manager at the time) made sure it was credited to Jagger-Richards; Jumpin Jack Flash was actually created by Bill Wyman on the organ; the underrated Mick Taylor wrote some of Can't You Hear Me Knocking and Moonlight Mile I believe - I know he constructed Time Waits For No One all to no credit.

Even if I ignore the fact you were, at best, an unwanted pregnancy...if you can't differentiate between a thread about the Verve with a comment about the Stones not releasing a good song since 1983 and "The Beatles music doesn't hold up" or "Oasis was better than The Beatles", I don't know what to tell you.

Hold on, did you just reword my hypothetical insult for use as an actual insult? Yeah...I'm pretty sure that's what you just did.
Impressive.

I wanted to add almost everybody in Ozzy Osbourne's band in the 80s. Ozzy is falsely listed as the songwriter for almost all of those songs but specifically the Bark at the Moon album which Jake E. Lee never got any credit for.

Ironically, that was the first song that played on my iPod as I drove to work today. I selected by "Best Alternative" playlist and that song is at the top of that genre for me. This is one of my Top 100 fav songs. I know the story about the Stones and the law suit and that spoils it for me a bit every time I listen to this great song.

This is just a further example of how fricked up IP law is. I move move and more into the camp that says it should be scraped altogether will ever story like this.
