This. Everyone typing on this board right now and their kid's kids will all be dead and gone before someone sniffs this with the parity and freak wins/losses in the FBS today.

Oklahoma: 47 games (1953-1957)

USC: 34 (2003-2005) - if USC converts a 4th down and 2 in the Rose Bowl, they extend their win streak next year to 41 games before losing to the Beavers.

Miami (Florida): 34 (2000-2003)

The record has been sniffed.

David Robinson. Last player to record a quadruple-double in an NBA game.

34-10-10-10.

Somebody used this logic about Dimaggio's streak -- after his 56 game streak snapped he had another one of something like 16 games, so it could have been 73

Dimaggio himself exposed the flaw in this: "After the streak ended, the pressure was off".

If you want to go way back, Washington went 64 games in a row without losing. Gil Dobie coached 61 of those and never lost during his coaching tenure at UW.

Olympic records among others:

Edwin Moses - 122 consecutive wins - Between 1977 and 1987, Moses won 107 consecutive finals (122 consecutive races) in the 400 M hurdles.

USC - 23 Consecutive Golds - USC has had a student athlete win a Gold Medal in every single Summer Olympics since 1912...including the boycotted Moscow Olympics.

I know you're better than this.

The Sooners had a span of 82 games where they went 76-4-2. Their 4 losses were by 6 points, 7 points twice, and 1 point. If they don't lose 0-7 to Notre Dame in 1957, and 14-15 to Texas in 1958, the streak would have been 62 straight wins. Notre Dame scored on 4th and 3 and intercepted Oklahoma in the endzone in 1957, and Texas scored with 3 minutes remaining to edge out Oklahoma in 1958.

No team has remotely sniffed the Oklahoma record.
Getting beat less than 75% of the way there, while extremely impressive, is not sniffing the record.

Too bad that win streak doesn't exist.

yeah, the OU record is obviously incredible and Miami's win streak from 2000-2002 was longer than USC's (so I guess Miami's run is more forgotten and less appreciated even among people who fancy themselves aware of recent football history)
