I'm looking for a "camp carry" knife...fixed blade, sheathed, prefer something in the 8-9 in overall length...I have a 10.5 Buck Special so I'm wanting something smaller. Looking for something in a fine blade/non-serrated/non-combo.

Prefer something made in the USA...definitely not China (personal preference...). I've got a couple of ideas from Benchmand with the Nimravus line...but I'm looking for other ideas.

I've been to knife works..and will buy from there if they have what I want...I'd rather send my money back to La than spend it anywhere else (I'm getting peculiar like that the older I get).

What's the OB say?

Right here: LINK

One of my cousin's kids (he's 21) broke and then ran over my skeet thrower (one of the nice electric ones). So when he left his truck at my house I straight up took this knife from it.

It's pretty cool.

Just bought a Gerber LMF II that was priced wrong on Amazon for $18.50. They normally run about $80.

I have a case ridgeback hunter. Best knife I've owned in a while, except for my other case knives.

I decided to go with the Gerber Gator fixed. Made in Portland, non-serrated, shorter than my buck. Only drawback is sheath is nylon...made in China...However I've got a call into a holster maker up here in H'ville to see if he can make me a leather sheath for it.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I may go back and spend another $80 on a Ka-Bar mini....has a leather sheath for the leather wrapped handle one..and made in USA.

Gator only cost me $50...consequently what my mom sent me in my birthday card. LOL.
