I've fished with virtually all of them. Caught a lot of fish with Brent Roy, but the dude has ADD and was a complete a-hole to deal with. Captain Dan (Midlife Crisis Charters) is good, but seems to have gotten more cantankerous as he's gotten older.
The best I've fished with, and the one I continue to use, is Ron Price (Fish Intimidator). He's a great guy, and his lodges are really nice places to stay. If for reason he's unavailable, I've had good trips with Brandon Carter, though he didn't used to have a place to stay.

This. Have fished with the guy twice, won't be a third trip. He's not exactly what I'd call a "warm" individual. He seemed annoyed to be taking you fishing.
Dan Dix w/ MLC is a good guide in the sense that he has his act together, boat works, will have bait, etc. However, he seems to focus almost exclusively on Redfish. He'll chase trout if 1. you ask and people have been catching a lot and 2. They're close to where you're already catching reds. He is NOT the right guy to take beginners with. He puts too much pressure to fight the fish in a textbook manner. Takes some of the fun out of catching your first fish for first timers.
ETA: I hear Brandon Carter is the man to fish with, but he books up fast or doesn't fish as much as he did or something.

What is the average $/person for a weekday trip? I have a cousin coming in from Arizona for the UF game, and he is dying to get down there. Problem is he can only fish on Thursday, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to take him. It would only be him and his gf, anybody know about how much $ they would be looking at?

A few weeks ago he offered to tow me in when I broke down (my hydraulic steering cable punctured and I had no steering). Luckily I had someone nearby to tow me. He let me borrow his rope since I didn't have a long rope also. Nice guy!
