Screenshot from a 100% CGI trailer you should say. Pretty lame though, I would have extorted the guards for even more money before I went my way and left them alone.

I bought the first 2 during the Steam sale and haven't touched them yet. I figure the first one is a little dated, but should I play it before 2 or will I be lost?

gameplay trailer from the same channel makes me wet too.

Only a few things carry over from 1 to 2. I'm expecting some story ramifications from 2 to influence 3, so definitely play 2.

i didnt.
Witcher 2 is plenty enjoyable without knowing the backstory.
The combat, story, and main character and his interactions with the world stand on their own plenty well, IMO.

I hope you don't need to play the others first. I'm getting it on PS4 and the old games will not work on my laptop.

I’ve talked about realism and the Uncanny Valley in the past plenty of times, and always as a skeptic. Today I may have to change my opinion.
quote:
The Uncanny Valley is a concept used in both robotics/AI and computer graphics. The theory posits that the closer we get to realism in graphics—to a human face, for instance, that looks like it was filmed rather than programmed—and the closer we come to human-like intelligence in robots, the more perturbed these creations will make us.

Today, Polish developer CD Projekt RED released a cinematic trailer for their upcoming RPG The Witcher 3 that, at first blush, I thought was live-action.

Witcher 2 was my most enjoyable surprise this year (I know it came out before this year). I was blown away how much I enjoyed it. I even bumped ya'lls old arse witcher thread to tell you how great i thought it was.
Witcher 3 and The District are my two most anticipated next-gen games.

They use models for cutscenes and character models iirc, which would be they look so good. They had a woman pose nude for the Tes scenes.

yeah, i agree. one of my favorite games ever.

The Witcher 3 has been described as "20% bigger than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,"[5] and CD Projekt RED anticipates approximately 100 hours for the completion of the main story and open-world quests.

The Witcher 3 will introduce "a living open world larger than any other in modern RPG history

I have been waiting to play witcher 1 in my library and seeing that trailer earlier had me wanting to start it.

I thought witcher 2 was ok but nothing great. The graphics here do look very impressive though.
