Thought this was an interesting take on the game from the perspective of a sports bet.

So you're betting the farm on the frogs, are you?

At +6.5? I'm tempted. I still think y'all win this game, but I'm saying it's within a field goal or two.

Look at all the opening games LSU has played throughout the last 8 years and see what the margins of victory were.

Even the North Carolina game was 30-10 in the 3rd before chief went into prevent.

Maybe they meant: at the end of the season.

Odd that he said LSU was not in the national title chase last season when we were 45 seconds away from winning the SEC West and playing Georgia in the (de facto) national championship game.

Just one more article that proves everyone is sleeping on the tigers.

You lose to Clemson, you will get overlooked by the national media.

Bama beat the brakes off national darling Notre dame.

So the line moved from 4.5 to 6.5?

2005: LSU 35, Arizona State 31
2006: LSU 45, ULL 3
2007: LSU 45, Mississippi State 0
2008: LSU 41, Appalachian State 13
2009: LSU 31, Washington 23
2010: LSU 30, North Carolina 24
2011: LSU 40, Oregon 27
2012: LSU 41, North Texas 14

Don't remember the lines for sure, but I think we covered in '05, '06, '07 and '11, failed to cover in '09, '10 and '12. Not sure there was a line in '08 (FCS opponent).

In '09 and '10, the final scores were not indicative of the games. Washington scored on the final play of the game to cut the margin from 31-16 to 31-23. We had North Carolina down 30-10 and were cruising until we decided to give some young players a chance on defense and they gave up a 80+ yard TD, then a couple of turnovers kept us from scoring again and UNC got a TD to cut it to 30-24.

And Oregon made sure to score in the last minute to make it look closer

You do realize the game ended with UNC throwing into the endzone from inside the ten yard line, right? I realize we were ahead by 20, but the Chief going prevent is not something that has been remedied and is likely to show its ugly head again.

I think 4.5 was what the Golden Nugget put out initially. Haven't checked to see when that moved. I'd guess that would have something to do with our 3 departures and the possible addition of Hill for y'all. Makes sense.
