Not hard to impress nor am I trying to impress.... dude would be fine at Acme, but we eat it with him every time we go to NOLA. Anything else along those lines to hit up tomorrow? Or even a step up? Sammy's popped up in my head, thats all I got. A buddy suggested Ruffinos, but that might be a little too nice. Only been in Baton Rouge about 1.5mths, so any suggestions are welcome.

Not that old
M-I-L doesn't care, she likes good food, but my FIL is kinda picky. Dude likes him some gumbo and grilled oysters though
I was trying to get something local.

My mom and dad are in their 70's and they do the Ruffino's sunday lobster deal twice a month, I think around $20, they love it.

we do chimes at least twice a month with a group of friends....
they want to eat about 4 or so, they have to head back to MS tomorrow evening.

Well Sammy's and Chimes are already out there. Maybe try Chelsea's? Mike Anderson's maybe.

How about City Café?

I wouldn't classify Ruffino's as too nice. I think it's a good option. Large menu, but no gumbo.

Acme on Perkins or Parrains just a few blocks away.

I looked at the Sunday brunch menu and it looks great, but I think they want to go eat around 4ish-5. I looked on the sight last night and didn't see a stop time for it. But, I assume its done by 2-3. And the regular menu would be back on. Her dad will be in jeans and a fishing shirt... With everyone else in shorts, that ok? I've been to ruffinos once and it was probably 10-12yrs ago and I just remember it being nice. Just moved permanently to B.R., so I'm still feeling out the food scene

Sammys and be done with it.There is something on the menu for everybody and jeans/fishing shirt are perfectly acceptable.
