We had an intern a few years ago on her first summer job. We were in a staff meeting during her first week going through a power point of a Haynesville study that we had just finished and she busted out laughing during the meeting and no one knew why. Afterwards I asked her what caused her to lose it during the meeting. She said that she wasn't expecting to see Cum on one of the slides.

Rumor is that the latest well, Lawson, has stability issues and on the flow back they will keep it at a reduced rate with a heavy choke. Estimated 500 barrels a day but it will flow at that rate for much longer than normal
Just a rumor from facebook

GDP stocks were up a good bit today and HK also saw a rise. Both being TMS strong I'm hoping this means some good news is coming

Still too many asterisks by production numbers and well costs. Maybe it will get better, Rome wasn't built in a day after all.

I bet she was a fun intern

Sorry for the bump. I hope Goodrich keeps up the good work. I heard they drilled a few busts, but they seem to be adjusting on the fly. Let's hope they keep improving with each new operation.
Working there this summer. It will be my first experience in the O&G industry, so I'm really looking forward to it. Glad to read about a successful operation.

For Goodrich? Summer internship?

Comstock Resources is supposedly applying for a new unit, a little to the north of all the current action at the next MS O&G board meeting. Sanchez is set to start drilling soon and Goodrich has a couple of new units the are supposedly applying for.
There should be a flurry of well reports out in the first 2 weeks of April, but who knows. Maybe there will be some good ones. One of the recent wells, don't know which one, got drilled in 36 days which is a new record for the TMS. On some other forums and on the facebooks site for the TMS there are claims of costs coming down. All rumor and hearsay, but at least there is something going on.

Helis Oil & Gas has filed for a public hearing with DNR to form a 960 acre TMS unit in the Lacombe Bayou Field in St. Tammany Parish. This is the first that I've heard of Helis being involved in the TMS play. They must know something if they are planning to drill that far to the East of any other TMS activity

Makes you wonder when all you see are smaller companies drilling there....

Interesting blurb being reported here. Sounds positive, but who knows.

The next 6 months should be very interesting. If they continue to cut drilling time and cost and have wells near the 1000/day the whole thing could explode.

Sorry but this just makes me chuckle when I see such low numbers. We just drilled back to back wells that are producing 10,000 bbls per day while choked back.

Can't you let some of us poor folks have a glimmer of hope?

Sorry FT. I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer. I honestly hope it works out for you guys down there. I have extensive experience with some of the most complex and challenging projects in the world and I'm always skeptical.
IMO your biggest issue is production rates. It needs to go up (that or the price of oil). The technologies available are so numerous I couldn't begin to list them all. From what I know of the TMS it is likely they will require some of the premier services to improve drilling efficiency. You're talking big money for these services and AFEs on land projects are always on the low end.
I'm currently working on an HPHT offshore project proposal and the costs are almost 3x the costs of a conventional well. These type of projects are AFE killers.

Ive been asking more people involved in the TMS questions lately. Mainly trying to find someone to tell me it wont happen. Especially after watching 18wheeler after 18wheeler pass my driveway on their way to drilling another hole. I honestly havent found one person that doesnt sound optimistic. Im not just talking about land owners but people in the industry.
Halcon seems to think they can apply Eagle Ford drilling in the TMS and be successful. Floyd Wilson, the one credited with starting the EF, said he studied the TMS a year before jumping in and is ready to attack it head on. I know he is small time compared to some big companies but with his success its kinda hard to bet against him

New TMS Unit in LA
Goodrich just applied for a new unit or sub unit or whatever it might be for a well West Feliciana Parish. This might be good for all ya'll up there in LA. Good to see other action, going a little further south than what was recently seen.

I think they may be planning on reworking the Devon Murphy well and drilling another in the area.
No wells drilled in W.Fel in almost 2 years and now I'm hearing of 3 or 4 in the first 6 months of this year.
We need a lot more rigs in the play
