I have P2000 with no safety and I think it's the safest way to go. Pull the trigger and fire, along with a projectile, comes flying out the business end. I keep my finger off of the trigger and my thumb on the bobbed hammer until I want it to fire. I think the hammer is a huge safety device over a conventional striker fired gun.

If you can find a V1 (light LEM) I'd go for it.
