My 14 year old girl whipped every man at the pistol range…LOL!

A local Rangemaster knows one of my daughters is a pistol prodigy, so he stirred-up some shite with some blowhards. Basically dared 3 guys to go toe-to-toe with a 14 year old girl…rapid fire…if they weren't too chicken.
Victims:
-2 "God's gift to guns" type of guys who are always at the range.
-1 LEO braggart (with his girlfriend in tow),
-There were also a couple of really nice young fellows with the 25th Infantry Division (Airborne) who simply thought a rapid-fire contest would be fun, so they participated. (definitely not assholes)
Course of Fire:
20 rounds
15 seconds
10 yards
Change mags as needed
Scoring convention:
Baby girl went first. Serious whoop-arse dished out. Got a perfect score of 100 (2 mag changes).
The looks of shock was funny as hell! (except for the rangemaster trying not to giggle).
She had a couple fliers up in the 8-Ring (still 5 Points)
The guys who followed got rattled and threw rounds. Seeing that, the last guy (one of the soldiers) fired too slow and failed to send all his rounds in time. (He would have won if he had gotten his last 2 shots off).
Perfect upper-body Isosceles (head perfectly square), but puts one foot back. (No butt comments…she's only 14…just showing stance)
Handling recoil perfectly…zero flinch or anticipation…fast follow-up.
I don't like the way she uses her left hand as a rest (a carry-over from when she was really little), but she sure puts the bullets where they belong. (brass already cleared and slide returning to forward battery).

I love seeing women get into shooting and not being scared as shite about it. Good for you Coastie! Raised a fighter, not a victim!

Funny you mention that...I think I also kinda phyched-out her competition when i yelled "FIGHT 'EM!" at my daughter to commence fire.
And when pace was lagging, I yelled "HIT HIM FASTER…HIT HIM HARD…KILL 'EM FAST!"
My kids are used to it, but apparently it rattles others.

"TRILLHOG IS COMING... SHOOT HARD! SHOOT HARD! SHOOT HIM IN THE BALLS!"

Women always seem to shoot better than men with equal practice

I see she uses the old teacup grip. I shot like that for many years before changing. Whatever works is what she should stick with.

quote:I've trained lots of folks in my lifetime and wish I could say it's superior training & practice, but it was obvious that she was in that top 1% in natural ability from day one. She's a pistol standout among my other kids who have received just as much of the exact same training. Go figure.

You on the Mississippi coast? That range looks awesome.

i noticed you didn't mention anything about her caliber or theirs either.

quote:Yeah, it works for her, but I don't know how well that'll work when she upgrades to a "real" pistol. That's just a little Bersa Thunder .380 she's using. Not sure if she'll be able to get off those rapid fire bursts holding a 9mm like that.

Look like 9mm holes to me. I could be wrong but they sure ain't .45 holes

I bet she will. Those little Bersa's have quite a kick because they are so small. A full size 9x19 has less recoil so she should be able to shoot the same way. If the is comfortable with it I wouldn't change a thing.

Up in Alaska.
State-operated range. Have big heaters overhanging the benches for winter shooting.
Cost $12 for the both of us. A bargain and a great view!

It shouldn't be difficult for her.
The majority of pistol grip concentrates on your dominant hand. If she has a strong enough grip with her dominant hand to shoot well and teacup, she should be just fine moving her support hand. It may take a bit of training, but with her natural ability, she will be even better.
And I've noticed that women are much better learners when pistol shooting because they take directions and aren't stubborn like us guys. When I first started, I could've sworn my sights were off. But every time my dad shot it, it went right down the middle. I was just stubborn and didn't want to accept that my form sucked.
