Riding around in the back of my brothers truck after Easter mass at the ranch. We were driving the fence line between our big ranch and our low fenced property. My brother slams on his breaks and starts yelling "shoot it shoot it" I see this thing running and know its not a whitetail so pull up free hand and drop it on the run. Didn't know what it was when I shot it

Killed a starling with a Benjamin, while he was flying.
Threw a boot at a yapping dachshund, and knocked him out, thinking I killed the neighbors dog for a few minutes.

I need a bud-light bottle right now for the yapping cardinal outside my window.

Group of about 70 mallards/wood ducks/teal lit 100 yards away. Aimed 2 feet above them. Pulled trigger. Killed a mallard hen and a banded wood duck

Speaking of benjamin shots, you know those white birds that group up behind people bushhogging fields?
Well a buddy of mine shot into a group of 200 or so of those big white birds from no less than 150 yards.
After he shot, a bunch got up and flew away.
About 3 seconds after watching their majestic flight, one fell out of the sky. Dead as a hammer.
Never found the pellet in that dead bird.
friend is long gone now. passed away in a tragic hunting accident

Shot he "O" in an Old Charter handle on New Years eve night, free handed, drunk, from 100yds , in the dark, with a .243. The bottle exploded, but the label kept the glass in tact and there was a bullet hole right through the "O".
Wanted to keep it and frame it, woke up and couldn't find it.

Just for your info, ALL birds are protected except for a few invasive species such as starlings, pigeons, and european sparrows.
But, we didn't know that when we were kids.

I was riding on the back of a 4-wheeler as a duck flew over. I waited on him to fly over the narrow road. Dropped him and he landed in the middle of the road. I think what I did is technically illegal

Crows and "blackbirds" when about to depredate on ornamentals or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, wildlife,.. and as we all know, they are always about to depredate on ornamentals or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, wildlife,...

Shot a skunk with a .22 pistol close to 200yds at night.
Some of the most memorable trick shots I've seen was by my brother. He would shoot deer and hit them when all I would see is a flash 150yd down a narrow haul rd. He shot 3 times at an 8pt running wide open 200yds away and hit all three times in the ribs. There is no telling how many squirrels he has killed running through the trees with a .22 but he can't can't shoot a shotgun for shite.

True, but, depending on where you live, I hear they can be pretty strict about you showing evidence of damage.
But, my point is, it's actually illegal to shoot most tweety birds.
I'm not pointing fingers or anything. The guy asking just didn't seem aware of this fact.

DON'T! dodad is the nastiest crap on hooves. even the young tender ones taste like garbage.
btw, those damn things don't need to drink water and therefore will take over areas in Tx hill country that the whitetails leave in times of drought.
sorry to highjack
