DEONDRE CLARK SHOWS INTEREST IN OLE MISS: LSU defensive end commitment Deondre Clark visited Ole Miss recently and walked away extremely impressed. Apparently, Clark may return in the near future for another visit, this time with his mother in tow. Sources say that the Rebels are a serious threat for his services. This may be something to watch moving forward.

GARRALD MCDOWELL VISITS OLE MISS: After naming LSU his leader at the Nike Opening in Oregon a few weeks back, Covington High defensive lineman Garrald McDowell visited Ole Miss recently, and the Rebels have become a viable threat for his services. In fact, they have always been a major factor in his recruitment. The other school still in the mix appears to be Arkansas, and if LSU wants to keep one of their premier in-state defenders home, they may have some work to do. It is possible that McDowell may make a decision before the season, but there is a very good chance that he may wait and take some official visits before doing so.

You know, I wanted to take him seriously with CRob, but then I read this.

I don't worry about losing people to ole miss. Lack of ambition isn't something I look for in a recruit.

Been hearing from my OM buddy that they are putting the press on Clark and wont stop until NSD.
They're also after McDowell and Willis pretty good as well.

Being after and having a legit shot are two totally different things

Freeze is dangerous, but until Ole Miss pulls a recruit from LA that we're seriously pursuing, I won't be very worried.

Never said they weren't. It's early in the process and I believe there is a mutual interest there. We still get both, IMO. I'm not really worried about losing an in-state kid to OM, but its 17-18 year old kids.

Exactly. We'd have to show out to have a real shot with either LA guys.

Sorry, but I have to think they are flashing the Franklins.

They made the mistake of having all three in at the same time. Would've been smarter having them in one at a time. They went up there to party together and nothing more. The only way one of them came away truly interested in OM is if the others let it be known they were NOT, and the one saw an opportunity. I don't think any of these three see things that way.

agreed, but Clark isn't from LA
I just read the article and thought it was interesting, I fully believe that come NSD both will be Tigers

Until you or anyone else can show proof they're paying players, let's not use that as an excuse here.

Yeah, I'm much more worried about Clark - especially with Nkemdiche possibly building a relationship with him. That guy was an incredible help to Ole Miss' recruiting last year.

He is the reason that victor Evans kid committed to us this weekend. Apparently he has a personality that other recruits gravitate to.

Russell Shepard was much the same way during his senior season of high school.

Ole Miss is trying to make some noise again this year! But our fence is not broken yet.

Ole Miss pulling the money out. About the only way they're going to compete in the SEC.
