We've always had two strokes. Really and truly it's about what you're trying to do with the motor. We use ours to get up in shallow water and the two stroke obviously is better at that. Unless you are really using a two stroke and the difference would make a differnce in what youre doing id say the 4 stroke is better. Whatever you do don't get a noisy arse rattletrap mercury.

2 strokes don't do much better than fours anymore except rev higher with exploding and weigh less.

I still love them though. The smell in the morning is worth the other bullshite to me

2 stroke is cheaper & lighter. 4 stroke is quieter

I have decided to hang on to my boat for another year but will likely be repowering it again in a few months. If you are in the market for a lightly used 250 pro xs *30 hrs*, let me know & I'll cut you one hell of a deal...
