Best First Person Shooter: Battlefield 3
Best Third Person Shooter: Gears of War. Only really played the first one, and not a big fan of the genre, but the success of these games speak for themselves. FTR, putting TLoU in this category is a slap in the face of that game. I don't consider it a shooter, but JMO.
Best Open World Role Playing Game: Skyrim or Fallout 3. Never got in to GTA. I know RDR gets a lot of love here, but I'm not going to vote for something I've never really played.
Best Sports Game: don't play sports games.
Best Racing Game: Burnout Paradise. I hate that this game kind of got swept under the rug. It's an arcade racer, but it's done so well and the open world aspect of it gets you lost for hours, looking for jumps or signs to crash through. The fact that you can take any route you want to in a race, as long as you get from point A to point B, took some getting used to, but it gives life to a somewhat boring genre to me.
Best Playstation 3 Exclusive: The Last of Us. I don't think many will argue when the PS3's life cycle is over that this game was tops.
Best Xbox 360 Exclusive: Gears of War, with Halo 3 coming in a close second.
Biggest Overall Bust of This Generation: Homefront. Diablo 3 is right up there. Never played it, but from every review I've read and gameplay video I've seen, Duke Nukem should get some consideration.
Best Overall Console Game of This Generation: The Last of Us.
Best Indie Game: Minecraft
I'll add one.
Best Co-op Game: Borderlands 2. This series is Diablo with humor and guns. Everyone needs to find a friend and try this game out. Seriously. It's way beyond good.

I agree so much. It's like me including Mass Effect as my pick here, it's a very backhanded award.
