Which is a flaw I don't see. Bruce Wayne trained with the League of Shadows, an organization that prides itself on the art of invisibility and deception. Not only that...in Batman Begins we saw he could walk and fight on ice without any problems. It stands to reason that he could have snuck into the city without being seen.

Also...he traveled the world for seven years in Batman Begins with little to no money. You don't think he could have figured out a way back to Gotham in the same vain?

Also...the person who said Nolan was trying to stay as far away from the comics as possible doesn't know what they are talking about. Batman Begins took a lot of its inspiration from Batman: Year One - one of the greatest Batman graphic novels ever written (perhaps THE greatest). The Dark Knight took much of its material from Batman #1, The Killing Joke and The Long Halloween - the two latter titles being among the most influential Batman stories to come in the last quarter century. The Dark Knight Rises was obviously inspired by Knightfall, No Man's Land, and The Dark Knight Returns - once again, three of the most celebrated Batman graphic novels.
