You Saban lovers crack me up.
I've said it a million times: Miles is a mulligan away from being equal to Saban. A mulligan Miles would NEVER get in a million years.
Could Saban win 3 of 4 NCs with Miles' standard?
Hell no.
Saban had schedules in 2011 and 2012 that 2-3X easier than Miles (by design) and needed all the breaks in the world to play in the NCG.
Face it fellow Tiger fans, LSU/Miles/you fan $$, are all pawns in a rigged game set up by the CFB and their darlings.
Miles will once again play a superior schedule (by design), have to run through one of the toughest gauntlets in the sport while the man most tiger fans worship will play one or two ranked teams, most likely lose to one, and still play for the NC due to their main rival, LSU, playing a harder schedule. It's ridiculous, but that's CFB.
And IF Miles loses to a top 5 team the same weak Saban is beating UK, Tenn or some other weak school, LSU fans will bash Miles endlessly. The double standard is obvious and hilarious.
As for the team discipline, what we know about Saban, Meyer (Hernandez anyone) and Spurrier and how they handle things. I'll take Miles. Not to mention our graduation rate is second only to Vandy.

After that season our offense went into a shell, and for the most part of the last 4 years it has stayed there. F
He's lucky he's recruited so damn well, most coaches don't get the chance to come "out of their shell."
That said, I think Miles is a great coach. (I hate saying this) but if it wasn't for Saban at Bama, Miles probably has three titles under his belt already.

You think recruiting is luck?

I am damn proud of this damn strong 8 years...have a great day

Outside of 2011 81% of SEC games are within 7 points or we have the occasional loss. Most OOC games are against directional state so those should be blowouts.
I'm not gonna check every school, but I would guess (given the strength and depth of the SEC), most SEC teams play each other relatively close. Hell, even the GREAT SABAN in his NC years had very close calls against some bad SEC teams and even lost a few games. Even lost to LSU at home one of those years.

I love me some Les, but his game day coaching has a lot to be desired. He is a great guy & great recruiter but some times his play calling is a mystery.

Tell me anyone who would not go back to their Alma Mater for way more pay and a place where they would win 8 games a yr asleep? The Michigan program at that time was at a 25-30 yr low and was the opportunity of a lifetime for anyone in the profession. Who wouldnt have hauled arse if that gig had fallen in their lap? What did Mr. Miles do? He decides to stay at LSU in the SEC West, yeah u know that place where Tuscaloosa resides, and compete against the best in the country. And his reward is..... he gets to listen to his own unappreciative fans belittle him on a weekly basis even in the off season. An off season that saw him bring in a tremendous and program changing OOS recruiting class and while doing all this, hires the best OC that was available. Do u think its an accident that Coach Stud takes the demotion and stays with this man when other OC and possible HC jobs were available to him? Its time to wake up people and realize just what u have here. Saban runs out on two programs and str8 up lies to both of his employers or would u rather have Urban Meyer , who couldnt even handle the stress of the SEC East. Its been 8 years and he's still standing with his morals and values intact and with a damn strong football team. Good 95% Bad 5%-(game day mgt and speaking with the press) LSU is so lucky to have this guy representing their school and the football program. He's not perfect, but tell me someone that is?

recruiting has been great (second only to Saban)
-player conditioning has been excellent (Moffitt)
-player development has been good (less freaks like Kiki, Matheu, Montgomery, etc)
-program has been run mostly clean with high graduation rates
-winning percentage is excellent and stadium sells out every game (as good as it gets)
-a National Championship and 2 SEC titles
THE BAD
-95+ % of all games are close (includes good and bad teams)
-coaching staff decisions have been marginal at best (less Chief) ie. Maleveto, Stud as OC with no OL coaching, etc (position coaches have been hit/miss)
-team discipline has been poor with preseason arrests that have negatively affected the season (somewhat common with elite players...happens other places too)
-game day coaching has been poor (strategy and use of players... Has gotten worse over the last 2 years)
-game day organization and discipline has been poor (penalties, delay of game, busted plays, use of time outs, etc)
- I concur with your assesment. Only Nick Saban has done more with somewhat equal recruiting. Great overall record by Miles ! He has run a very clean program ! Kids seem to like playing for Les.
Les averaging over 10 wins per season ! Overall, the grade that I would give Les for the past 8 years would be an A- .

The Bad -
Alabama 2012 BCS game
Tennessee 2005
Troy 2008
Clemson 2013
Ole Miss 2009
Tennessee debacle (12 men on field)

Only LSU fans would complain.

In 8 years, only three games have bothered me - one of which was a victory. The Auburn game where the refs screwed us blind bothers me to this day, but I don't blame Les for it.
The Tennessee game in 2010 bothers me, because we played WAAAAYYYYY down to an inferior opponent and only got the win because their coaching staff was more inept than ours that day.
Of course, there is the BCSNCG v. Bama. Totally on Les.
Three games in eight years. Hell, I can name more than that in the five years $$$$$ was our coach.
We should all be proud of the program that Les has built in Baton Rouge - proud of the team, proud of the staff and proud of the man who leads them.

If Jan 9 2012 had changed his perception would be totally different.

This is really what is comes down to.
Are a couple of conference titles and one national title every 8-9 years enough?

When he took the job I was an LSU fanatic, recruiting, offseason, the whole nine yards. Today I watch the games and hope they win but am no longer invested like I once was. Once he leaves I will return to being a die hard, bleeding purple and gold, in other words he killed my fanship.
Nah, you killed your fanship(is that even a word?). Not Les Miles.
BTW, you're a bandwagoning little bitch.
