bullshite. I want them to serve it like the chef think it should be served. I'm not there to make decisions for the kitchen.
Ralph's On The Park, while not a very good restaurant overall, has the best turtle soup I've ever had.

I haven't been since last year during restaurant week when there was a killer deal. Turtle soup is still subpar though .. too much sherry .. don't care what anybody says.
It's already in the soup. If you ask them to add more (which would seem customary) then it's too much
Just my take

Surprisingly when it's on special at the Rivershack in JP, it's a pretty damn good interpretation of the soup IMO

Right, not your fault. Tell that to your boy Obama! Not everyone has the same taste when it comes to sherry. As stated, try reading the menu next time. It states the fact that it's served table side. Or just keep being disappointed. That's probably easier.

They are actually really nice about splitting plates too. Last time I was there it was for a friend's birthday and we were going out for a big dinner too and didn't want to fill up. I was stunned at how inexpensive it was by the time we had finished, especially considering how much we ate and drank.

I asked them to pour a little bit. it was still too much.
obviously my problem .. since I was paying for it and was disappointed.
oh well, that's the good thing about appetites / there's always another one right around the corner!

Never had it there but I love some Rivershack. Top 3 oyster poboys in the city and their red beans are the tits.

Rivershack is yummy. It's hard to get people to go all the way out there though.

Residents of the NOLA metro area are strange when it comes to traveling.
It's essentially a big small town. Even the people with money uptown have a hard time escaping their neighborhood bubble.

agreed it's a trek if you're coming from garden district or whd/fq. I worked in Harahan a lot recently so was able to just pop right over there.

shite we're probably talking about 8 months ago I mentioned a cocktail that I enjoyed at Pal's. It's a good fall time drink. Called Raining Bulleits. Bulleit Bourbon, Pumpkin Licour and topped with nutmeg. I remember you saying something along the lines of "that sounds like it would be in my wheelhouse"
