The owner of One actually just messaged me to tell me he'd extend happy hour until 8 for us. Nice!
I'll definitely be giving a full review. One has some tasty specialty drinks. I love sitting at the bar and watching chef Scott cook. I heart their crab cakes.

We also changed the list to take out Superior, and add Rio Mar.
Wise move.
This would be very impressive if you pull this off. That is from one end of town to the other. I may crash at one of the spots just to spectate.

I'll definitely pull it off. I'm a planner extraordinaire. My friends don't complain. I plan all of our outings, group trips, etc. I just give them an itinerary and they show up.

had no idea about their happy hour, thanks for posting about it. I've only been once / for dinner / and though the food was good but lacked some execution. The sweetbreads were probably the worst I've ever had, but the lamb osso bucco was really really good .. the duck confit which my gf got was just mediocre .. skin could use some work. I'll be getting the fried quail next time I think. And of course you can't go wrong with cheap small plates and half priced wine.
I had some very similar experiences with the sweetbreads and duck confit. Confit was definitely meh. I'm also planning on getting the quail next time

Nik,
Does this place have bar seating, or only tables?

Interesting question from Chair...
They do have a bar area. I'm pretty sure you could eat there, especially during happy hour.
Also, I just looked at the website, and on Wed night they do "Wine down Wed" $5 glasses and $20 on select bottles all night.

Another question too, for Nik, or I guess this can be for anyone that's been. What is the dress code? I've got somewhere to go around 8 on Friday that I'll be pretty dressed up for (slacks and a jacket). If we go here for an hour or so before, will I be overdressed?

Not trying to interupt. It's hard to be overdressed for a nice restaurant. IMO.
That being said, if you have a jacket on, you will probably be the most dressed person in the restaurant. You could leave the jacket in the car if you like, but wearing it inside will not draw any odd looks. I think slacks and dress shirt is standard fare for most restaurants of this caliber.

To answer all of your questions....
There is a bar. If memory serves me correctly, there are about 6 seats there. The bartender makes some great craft cocktails. Strike up a conversation with him and find out what he's creating at the moment.
For the dress, you'd be fine in nice jeans and a collar shirt. You'll definitely be the most dressed person in the place in a jacket, but like what's already been said, one should never feel out of place being dressed nicely in a nice restaurant.

I wore slacks, white buttonup and black blazer (no tie) to Bistro Daisy couple weeks ago and was certainly one of if not the most dressed up in there. there were two older gentlemen eating together who were dressed similarly, and there was also a guy in his 20s there in cargo shorts and a t-shirt. I guess most restaurants here just don't care all that much.

That's exactly what I find. It saddens me that the art of dressing nicely for dinner seems to be a thing of the past. When you're in a nice restaurant spending $100+ for 2 people, seeing someone sitting at the next table wearing cargo shorts, a t-shirt and crocs cheapens the experience.

I wouldn't quite say it really effects my experience. I just can't of roll my eyes and go about my business. Maybe I'm just too used to it now. And that's a shame.

Yeah Rohan, but your slacks were tattered, and your blazer sleeves were rolled like you were in an old John Cusack movie.....
Frickin Hipster!
Finally. R2R. IRL
ETA: It doesn't bother me much either. I find constant vulgarity and general obnoxiousness as being my pet peeves.

At Bistro Daisy? That's odd, wouldn't think the cargos and crocks crowd would be there. 99% of the time it seems like people are dresses appropriately at the more upscale NO restaurants outside of the quarter.

I agree that's usually the case .. don't see near as much bullshite outfits at places like Lilette, Bistro, Coquette, etc. I think this was just a one-off. He was the only guy in there in shorts, I'm sure he felt a little embarrassed. He and his wife seemed like out of towners too based on the little eaves dropping I did.

Maybe it doesn't affect ones experience negatively when it's there, but I think it would definitely affect your experience positively to dine out and to see everyone dressed really nicely.
Posted on 7/10/13 at 9:26 am to nikinik
that's a terrific observation

They asked this older guy to snap a pic of the three of them. Guy said why don't you take the hat off, you're not at some street side cafe. They kid goes no man this is like "my thing". Guy refused to take the pic. Said hey kid this is fricking mcdonalds. you look like an a-hole. i him
