Nice TigerBait piece on Battle. (Free)

LINK

quote:

"He was more excited than me," Battle said of Miles. "He said he was grateful to have me and we're getting ready to do some big things at LSU and wants me to be a big part of that. He said let's go out there and win a national championship."

------

"I grew up being a big fan of LSU and dreaming about playing in Death Valley," said Battle, who punctuated his on-line decision with a purple and gold hat. "I get that feeling every time I think about LSU and walking out of the tunnel and looking up into the stadium. It doesn't get any better than Death Valley. It stayed in my heart and it's still there to this day so that's what I went with.

Thnxs to Crumble for the TB link. It looks like Corey Raymond is earning his stripes! I love that he is doing well at LSU. He is a hometown guy that is also a class act. I have heard cool things about him and the only time I met him was when we played the same flag league and he seriously locked down our biggest weapon at WR. I had played a seriously large part in beating that Cypress Bayou team the year before but they added some serious talent and steam rolled us nasty like that year which ended up being my last.

Back on topic... I love seeing the staff taking a lot of DBs (along with OL) because of the huge advantage having a future NFL studded secondary gave the Tigers when PP7, Mo, Tharold, HB, Reed and even Minter turned our D into one heck of a show and the best D in the land IMO. The 2011 reg season sched was huge for them to sweep and it could not have been done without a stellar Secondary performance that allowed the chief to do things that no other DC would have thought of in those situations against those offenses. Just that dime packages blitzes were things of beauty that gave the honey badger more than one of his highlights.

Yep, I am all for loading up with DBs after seeing how the Chief calls plays when he has a uber badarse secondary to play with.
