Remington 700 has many decades of that design being the benchmark for accuracy. And that new trigger they have on them is fricking awesome right out the box. You used to have to put a Timney or something in them. Not anymore. The only issue I have with them now, other than the boycott, is the synthetic stocks are just not strong enough out at the fore end so if you're using one of the new varmints and you're on a bag, they can flex up into the barrel.

That said, there are a LOT of fine rifles these days. The Savages, Tikka's etc have really upped their game significantly. For a 200 yrd rifle, any of them would be more than satisfactory.

I will continue to shoot and buy Remington products until I no longer like the results or they move production of the model I want over seas.

I was told by a worker at Bud's to stay away from the new 700's. they ordered 10 and all but two shot under 1 MOA. They talked to Remington about it and they would not replace the barrels. Which, per-Freedom Group (or whatever they call themselves) it wouldn't have been an issue. He said that if a Savage won't shoot 1 MOA or better, they will replace the barrel. I ended up going with the Savage Model 10 PC.
