Well at this point I am looking to get rid of anything left in the barrel. The whiskey flavor is long gone and I assume it has been replaced with bacteria that I do not want. So anything that will strip the barrel of stuff living in the wood is on the table.

I guess what I was trying to say is why not put a couple of handles of whiskey in and sanitize the barrel as well as give it a new lease on whiskey life.....Kill 2 birds. #Ilovebirds
