I hate it too, but it is the reality we live in.

The new CBA slapped them down a little bit, but not enough.

The reality is, if you draw the line in the sand and say "retire then"...he drags it out so you have no money to spend in FA, he then starts whining, crying, bitching and making a scene until you are basically forced to buy him out.

At that point, you have no shot at any Free Agents, and you are in worse shape than if you just hadn't done the deal at all.

This one in particular is WTF-worthy. Shawn Marion is whining and crying about making 5x more money than he's actually worth in a year.

Stern should do something about it then. Make them sit out a year if they force a buyout for refusal to play. Teams need to take a stand and say well retire and frick yourself then.
