Keep in mind Black Bayou has 50HP restriction.
I recommend depthfinder/GPS at console and another at the trolling motor possibly just sonar on the front unit. Recessed foot control for trolling motor is nice. Adds room to front deck and easier on the back. Automatic bilge and lockable rod/storage boxes. A good quality used boat is the way to go. Let someone else pay for the initial loss of value. Someone selling a good boat only a couple years old probably didn't' use it much anyways.

Good point... Great info too!! Thanks

concur w/ several others on here...

get as big as you can w/in your budget. I had a 16ft express w/ a 40hp 4stroke and it was underpowered. I'd go 75hp atleast w/ a 4stroke

also, get a trolling motor w plenty of power.

I bought a 2010 Bass Tracker PT175 TXW with a 50 HP just because of Black Bayou. It gives me a 17 1/2 ft boat that will run 32-33 loaded. This year was rated for a 90 just in case i ever decided to put a bigger engine. I am pleased with it, but I find that I never make it fishing since buying it.

I bought a bass tracker pro175 last year. Paid 15k new with a 60. Put a Lowrance elite 5 on console and moved the Lowrance it came with to front. Does everything I need, tops out around 41 with passenger and gear. I've been pleased so far.

nice depth finder dpark. I have the same one with a elite 4x on the front. Love it when I get to use it. May end up selling it due to lack of use though.
