we bought the best no. 10 in the world.
We haven't made a move like this since Bergkamp.
Good omen? I'm still pinching myself, convinced I am going to wake up from this dream.

I loved the last sentence.

Sergio Ramos said Özil would be the last player he'd sell if he ran things and that he didn't understand why Real sold him.
John Cross says Wenger's personal recruiting sealed the deal and held off a better offer from PSG.

santos was our backup LB who we loaned when we bought Monreal. we sold him this summer.
we've sold a ridiculous amount of Özil kits today. I'll get my puma one next season. making some of that fee back!

I´m not surprised.
Real Madrid expects to sell 40,000 Bale strips per year.

good read on our tactics
Not nearly as in depth as I like. Our midfield rotation with the inverted winger has been a virtual constant throughout Wenger's reign. What's interesting is that when we played the 4-3-3, we had a triangle rotation, which often left us out of position if our pattern was figured out.
What I see is a return to the pre-2005 Arsenal, a team that can defend deep at times and press high at times, depending on the situation. Cazorla's movement is akin to a free role, which is much different from our other inverted wingers like Pires and Arshavin. Those two players were rather direct, whereas Cazorla on the left is basically the same as Cazorla in the center, as in Cazorla on the left is a purely defensive move. In comparison, when Podolski is on the left, he plays as a left-sided support striker, and looks to facilitate play with one-twos on the edge of the box, always seeking the ball to his feet.
Our movement with Cazorla is now akin to a box being closed on one end and opened on the other, if that makes any sense. The triangle becomes a square when Cazorla cuts in, at which point a deeper midfielder moves out wide to create another axis point, essentially making two triangles in midfield.

This is one of the sexiest things I have ever read. The Villa match was an anomoly to the form we have had since Bayern at the Allianz. The addition of Ozil and getting a few guys healthy and we are a very dangerous team.

it was a product of gibbs' injury, largely. and some poor referee decisions. even if he had sent off szcz, we'd have at least gotten a point IMO.

I think so as well. Just the pundits and fans of other teams were the ones heaping on.

I can't wait to watch Ozil and Santi combine.
