Kyle Peterson hasn't gone an inning without mentioning the lack of home runs, or the lack of pop off the bats. It's not just lsu fans.

I noticed that, and believe me I wish we could go back to the 2009 bats. My point is that base hits, and home runs, are still happening. Our workhorses went cold, period. I didn't see anywhere near this much bitching about the bats a week ago.

Probably because LSU wasnt in Omaha last week. The issue most fans have is that the CWS is being ruined. Yea they would like more home runs in the regular season. But when the Championship tournament is being played and the game is significantly different, there is a problem.

How many HRs have been hit so far. When I last checked in (during the LSU-UNC game) it was 2 in 7 games. That's "still happening," but not very much. Unless of course we are witnessing some of the greatest pitching in CWS history. I don't mind if you call me a whiny bitch, but this current product is not nearly as much fun as before the new bats. It doesn't mean LSU's circumstances change (although I think they beat UCLA), but it means that fans should complain about a diminished entertainment value in a game that was being built on entertainment. The fans can whine after a crappy performance and blame it on whatever, but the actual product... the entertainment has changed to stress about small ball details and not excitement when you hear the ping.

The ping was what made me a huge post season college baseball fan. Now, every time I watch a game in Hoover or Omaha it makes me want to change the channel and avoid the 9 innings of stressing out over walks and errors on bunts.

The current game is like relay croquet.

At a slower pace than has happened in many, many years.
