And yea, with one of the best teams, players, and pitchers in the country all season and with almost all national seeds except us failing to qualify, I kinda expect to win a game at least

How do you feel about maineri's decision to allow rhymes to hit instead of bunting over the run that tied it?
That's all you got? After 18 inning and 54 outs, all you can come up with is one fricking play?
We kicked the ball around in game one and left runners all over the bases in game two, but you want to cry over one fricking bunt or not bunt.

I'm ok with losing while playing our best, but we beat ourselves this time around and that is not cool.

Because LSU fans are idiots and assholes.

a good portion of the people on the rant are around 20 years old. Have no clue what it is like to lose and how hard it is to win as a program. This is the best baseball team we have had IMO. We shouldn't have lost to UCLA.....errors cost us the game, and just that little sliver put us up against one of the better number 2 pitchers in NCAA baseball. Better luck next year. Our players feel a ton worse about it then the students and fans, so our students and fans should support them.

Bc it wasn't a successful season. Regular season doesn't mean shite without hardware.
And I'm one of the biggest "positigers" on here.
It simply wasn't a success. That's no reason to cry and shite on players but to act like it wasn't a failure is retarded.

Retarded is calling a season that includes a CWS trip a failure.

What is a failure, was making it to Omaha and not even winning a game

Their goal was to win the series, not simply make it to Omaha. Their goal was a failure. There was nothing wrong with what I said. To pretend that just making it to Omaha is "good enough" is just as bad as the people talking shite about the team. That's all im saying.
LSU is an elite school who goes into each season expecting to win it all. They will tell you they failed their goals. No need to get defensive about that word. I'm glad we won the SEC but the truth of the matter is the big picture was not a success.

Please!
Two teams, due to the format, will always not win a game.
That, in no way, makes those two teams bad or failures or an embarrassment.
Those fans who express those fair weather feelings are the true embarrassment to LSU.

Saying that people failed at something =\= embarrassed of your team. You simply think failing is the end of the world. Stop trying to be super fan. Paul fricking mainieri himself said he didn't even want them dog piling after super regionals bc making it to Omaha was not this team's goal. You're too immature to realize that someone can fail at something without being totally slandered and shite on.
I guess 1/9 wasn't a failure either?

The LSU Tiger Baseball program has won 6 National titles in a 23 year span. Take USCw out of the equation and this program is tied with the most NC's in college baseball history (Div.1).
In a CWS setting, you have eight teams who are all playing good baseball. If the CWS could be played 100 times during a given season, each of the eight teams would probably end up winning at least one national title. Baseball is a game of inches and percentages. An error here or there, a misplayed fly ball or a pitch covering too much of the plate makes all of the difference in the world. Unfortunately, the Tigers' bats came up short.
The pitching only gave up 6 runs in two games. Not all runs were earned. Hats off the Aaron Nola for his fine perfcrmance on Sunday. The loss stings but the experience of being in Omaha will be a plus for this program going forward.
Baseball giants sometime win the crown and sometimes they don't. A Warren Morris pop up to 2nd base, and Miami wins the title in 96. An unbeliveable comeback against Stanford in 2000. A Ben McDonald pitch to Paul Carrey in 87. We are very fortunate to have won 6 NC's. Baseball games are not always fair. MSU may win the NC just because of the bracket they are playing in.
Look at Vanderbilt. They did not even go to Omaha. Certainly they were better than Mississippit State. LSU beat MSU two out of three games. But it doesn't matter because it all evens out over 25 or 30 years of consistency.
Can't put this on Coach Maineri. Sometimes shite does happen. But understand we had more good Karma than bad and this program will rise up to win another NC soon. Just not this year. Sometimes the best doesn't come through..but it is very much like life itself. Next year is a new year.

Only a fruit loop is going to call this baseball season not successful.

The game on 1/9 was a failure, but the season of 2011 was one of the very most successful in LSU history.
Fans not understanding that fact have their head stuck in the sand.

Yeah I admitted that I was happy about the SECCG. Saying the season was a failure was harsh. But the ultimate goal, the big picture was a failure. It's not embarrassing.
And it won't be remembered by anyone but LSU fans. Bc people look at titles. We won the SEC while a rival took home the bigger prize.

most of the people on here get caught up in the end of seaosns, which rarely end up good in athletics. Really only the #1 team the national champion can declare that they had a good ending to their season. Even when LSU wins a bowl game we get caught up in man we should have been in a better bowl game. Baseball and Basketball only one team finishes the year with a W (excluding teams who aren't good enough to make it to the tourney) so it can never end on a winning note.
its the nature of sports and it seems most people can't handle it on this place.
