Batting, top to bottom.
The only correct answer. Our lineup once again made a good pitcher look like a world beater. The guy is good, but by far not the best theyve faced all year and the just couldnt put enough together. Again, you cant expect to win games 1-0.

You can't make that many errors in a game at this level and expect to win.

Man I'v been saying this same thing. Now if you make a bad pitch you likely get rewarded with a long out at the track. And I'm not just complaining about this for LSU. State should have gone down to a walk off Saturday. Its ridiculous now.

What lost the game was letting the lead off man on base 5 innings in a row. No way you can do that without it biting you in the arse.

UCLA won the game. Skip was right. America's favorite pastime is the blame game.

We lost this game on the defensive side of the ball. Regardless of what some of the "experts" on here are saying about hitting, the defensive side of the ball lost this.
Nola pitched well enough to win, we scored the only EARNED run (they call the UCLA runs unearned for a reason). While it was certainly not a hitting clinic, if you have to place blame somewhere it is on the defensive side of the ball.
I still like LSU's chances to win it all. We just faced the toughest out of the tournament I think.
I like our chances facing them again. I also like our chances with a loss on us - focus will increase, those borderline pitches will be laid off of, but most importantly defensively we will stop looking like the bad news bears.

It looked like we rolled out of bed and tried to rely on a combination of kale juice, canned corn and swagger.

Relying on Nola pitching a CG Shutout every time is like hoping your Defense holds Bama to a field goal and you kick two.
You have to score against a guy you are tatooing. They were smoking balls at people. Couple that with getting impatient later in the game and you get this. We have to score more than one run to win that game, plain and simple.

First time in a while I've actually seen a pitcher (Plutko) pound the top of the zone, purposely. He was challenging our hitters to hit it out and all we could do is hit pop ups EVERYWHERE

We hit 9384 pop ups last night.

Bregman, hands down. There was that overthrowing error from third to first then to third (I think) but Bregman's error lost the game for us.
He gets it together tomorrow and we roll.

1. Coaching - Reasons stated above. (Rhymes at bat the worst of them all)
2. Hitters - terrible approach at the plate and no adjustments.
3. Bregman (Errors happen but there is no excuse for not getting in front of the ball in that situation.

They had the leadoff batter on base most innings. You are not going to use much strategy when your first runner on is with two outs. At that point you are just looking for a good time to steal.

The team lost the game; team includes coaches. Everybody was swinging at bad pitches.
Time to move on and learn from the mistakes and play like the Tigers we truly are; the ones that beat Vandy, Oklahoma, etc.
