Inspection stickers for boat trailers-increased enforcement???

A buddy told me every boat owner at the Mississippi River boat launch near St. Francisville got a ticket last week for not having valid inspection stickers on their boat trailers. The fines are just North of $250 bucks. Does anyone else have similar stories, or was it a rouge rabbit sheriff dick move isolated to that area?

There was a big story about this on the Sportsman website recently.
I believe it was Wildlife and Fisheries agents. I heard they wrote everyone at the launch.

Put "paiging Felicianatigerfan" in your title. I think he is a deputy over there and avid user of the Ms. river.

Someone told me the same happened at Bayou Pigeon a few weeks ago. Before that, I'd never heard of inspection stickers for boat trailers, just the registration tag on the license plate. I just blew it off as a BS rumor. Don't know anyone directly that it's happened to, always a friend of a friend story

Well it is a valid law on the books. I can tell you that. I've never known anyone to actually have an inspection sticker on their boat trailer though.

I was told at the local auto mechanic that they are starting to write up all trailers, utility, camping and boats. I got stickers for my camper and utility to carry in my truck. This was around Lake Charles i was told this.

Ok. I guess I need to go get two stickers then. How do you, or how would you display them? Isn't the adhesive on the face of the stickers made to stick inside a windshield?

I think it's a different kind for a trailer. But to be honest. I've never seen one.

I'll have to ask around then. I like to drink a little beer when I'm in my boat, so the less interaction at the boat ramp, the better. I want one that is large enough to see from a distance.

Where does one go to even get a trailer inspected??
