I'm glad this thread was started.
It's easy to tell who the bleeding heart, anti-god, anti-America posters are.
Shame on all of you. You disgrace All the men and women who died protecting the rights of pieces of shite like that
Brilliant post, sir!

I find it disgusting that just because he went to lsu everyone is willing to overlook his anti American views. This man literally makes me sick.
His anti-American views don't matter.

National anthem controversy[edit] Abdul-Rauf is perhaps best known for the controversy created when he refused to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" before games,[4] stating that the flag was a symbol of oppression and that the United States had a long history of tyranny.
Ok, why would anyone believe this?
Have we not spent Trillions freeing people from Tyranny?
Have not thousands died in the line of duty fighting and defending freedom?
How does an American confuse this? ah, that whole Muslim thing again
What scripture is he being taught that gets him believe this?
When there is weirdness in ones belief or actions, sin is not absent..

He still lives in America, pays taxes (probably has paid more in taxes than any in this thread ever will), gives back to his community, and has never committed a crime.
So who really turns their backs on America? People like Mahmoud, or people like his father?

Didn't you read the previous poster? None of this matters. And you need to like Abdul-Rauf or you are disgraceful.

Chris Jackson was certainly a great college basketball player at LSU. And he is certainly within his constitutional right to express his freedom of religion. My contention is that if he feels this country and our flag is a symbol of oppression and tyranny, why stay? Move to Iraq, Afghanistan, or Iran with your Muslim brothers where things are much better. If things are that bad here, I would not want to be a part of it.

I could be wrong but I think you interpreted what he said wrong. I thought he was calling Chris(I will never call him by that other name)Jackson a piece of shite. If I interpreted wrong then to Chris Jackson. Dude can move his sorry arse to the Middless East.

quote:Yes, I was making fun of folks like you who think opinions are more important than actions. Mahmoud came from an environment of leeches who don't pull their weight and do nothing but drag the country down, and he turned into a man who has pulled way more than this weight and does nothing to slow the country down.
I could be wrong but I think you interpreted what he said wrong.
But he doesn't agree with you on how awesome this country is.
Get over yourselves, people.

Props to the basketball player, but my beliefs stray me from listening to the rest of that.

Thousands more have died trying to get to the land of the free.
How many are trying to get to a Muslim country?
Rauf is free and wealthy, why isn't he taking his family to the Utopia that he envisions.

Shaquille is great ex-LSU player and still supports his college and the community.. What has this idiot ever done for LSU and its fans.. Whooaaa.. Played a few years then left and disgraced our country......just because he played here doesn't mean we have to support him. I love shaq but If he disgraced this country like that id punch him in the nuts .....

I'm wondering if posters here are so uninformed they don't know how many tyrants we propped up in in countries worldwide over the last 50 yrs, both Christian, and Muslim.
The Islamic Revolution in Iran, jsut by way of example, was fostered in great measure by US installing and propping up on the Shah. That's why so many older Iranians still despise us.

Raises his kids, pays his taxes, stays out of trouble, all after coming from an environment that told him that it was expected of him to do the opposite of all three. Dopey opinions about this country don't do anything to erase that.
Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf is a fine American.

The guy wasn't given anything, he earned his success and chose a path different from what you thought he should have
And the reason he was able to do this is because he lives in a country that gives him that opportunity. The same country he has no respect for. frick him. I don't care how damn good he was in basketball at LSU.
