I think the show is easier to theorize to. There is not a lot of detail that has to be read and the POV's are closer together. Subtle hints are harder to see in books rather than shows. I know all readers will accidently skip some parts or just look over them. Show watchers are attuned to the store because it is only an hour long each week.

That's a good point. To be honest, I must have somehow glossed over the leeches when reading the book, myself, b/c when we saw it on the show, I thought it was new and not in the book! I recall being pretty surprised when Joff purpled out.
