NOLA.com top 50 HS football teams in the state... #12 Evangel
How can teams who never won a state title be near the top of the list? A lot of curious picks. Strange list.
Or hqvent won a title since integration

E would beat 95% of these teams on a regular basis.....and I see E as the only team above Neville that would give them a problem
Idk. Acadiana is going to be pretty good this year. And they play Neville in Shreveport the second or third game of the season. Do the wrecka' rams stand a chance?

i think 11 is the right ranking for Rummel... you might as well have faith in a Jay Roth team, but they lost guys too good to put them any higher

now we're in the top 10 and Acadiana at 10 is another surprise. someone really suspect will be in the top 8 now
still left

the miracle on mcneese still doesn't put Barbe ahead of West Monroe, but getting their butts kicked puts them ahead of Rummel?
also can someone find the Trey Quinn GIF?

Barbe at 9 tells me there will be a lot of lower classified teams in top 8. I would put them no lower than 2nd in 5A but their D is bad...really bad. Maybe they should just kick onside everytime. Without the onside kicks against WM, it's very likely WM would have ran for 700+ yards.

I actually think they should be ranked over Rummell. I know they played a lot without Williams, but he was the key in making them the best in 5A.

No way....
Im drawing blanks on who that last team will be.
ETA: I guess it has to be McD 35, cant think of another team.

Mandeville beat them two weeks in a row by like 24 or whatever but covingtons ranked like 7 spots higher

i'd put Chalmette on the field with Covington and expect a good game... they're saying Covington would be a Dome team if this was last year

I dont know much about HS football anymore besides where the top recruits are but thats pretty funny. I hear covington has a good squad so i dont know. Just going off how MHS beat them twice in a row pretty easily

Covington at number 8
That program is a complete clusterfrick right now. The principal fired Malter Scobel after spring practice, who was doing a great job of keeping the athletes at Covington and away from St Paul's. Then the principal goes the good ole white boy network route and hires Greg Salter because the stadium is named after his grandfather. The same Greg Salter who was on Scobel's coaching staff the whole time trying to sabotage Scobel so that he could get the job for himself. (Scobel wanted to but couldn't get rid of him because his last name was Salter) Meanwhile the hiring of Salter alienated the Covington black community, one of the main reasons Brumfield left. Salter then hired his brother to be his DC. Between the two Salters neither has ever been a coordinator (except at the junior high level). Salter will more than likely be installing a new offense and defense this August. And NOLA still ranks them #8 just because they have McDowell and a few other players.
There is no way Covington beats St Paul's and Mandeville this year. They might get lucky and catch some breaks and beat one of the two but no way they beat both. Guy Lecompte's offense vs. an inexperienced Covington coaching staff. :rotflmao:

By removing the private schools?
A public school in their own district knocked them out in the first round last year
