TX fan getting scared about losing recruits.

This gets said a lot, but in what way does simply playing this game in Texas aid in LSU recruiting Texas?

LSU is a known commodity nation wide. We do incredibly well in Texas already.
LSU games, and particularly this neutral site game will be on national TV.
LSU is not going into Houston days and days before for this game.

What am I missing...? I'm genuinely asking. How EXACTLY does simply playing a game in Houston in August make it more likely LSU will snag Texas recruits than if we played Wisconsin in Tiger Stadium on the same date?

I tend to agree with you, but that is the only thing I could of that he meant by that comment.
I would guess though it does aid in recruiting, as CLM can say, "We will be playing X number of games closer to your home for friends and family to see you play"

Even our OOC season opener is a nationally televised game vs. a storied program. It helps with the stature of the program beyond even Texas recruiting

nah man, in recruiting, every little bit counts. you have recruits backing off bc "he didnt contact me for a week"... likely not the real reason but seriously. every. little. bit. counts.

miami probably thought they had shite wrapped up too. they got lazy.. when you simmer down, someone els is picking up the slack.

what seems minor to the fans, is important to the players. a lot of these kids think highly of how we travel. sure they get to come see games in death valley, but when they see how deep we travel, first hand, it shows something.

Because the best players in the Houston area will probably be at the game. Some of them may never have been to a A&M or UT game. I can guarantee this will be the biggest COLLEGE football game in Houston that year.

So, you get a shitload of money and exposure in a recruiting hotbed, sure can't hurt.

It's an excuse that is highly overrated and it pays for Jerry's stadium on top of it

. Me too. I honestly don't understand this logic either. Not that I'm not excited about theses games nor do I have a huge beef with them big being played in TS and Camp Randall (but I'd rather they were). I just don't think it really could have that much impact in recruiting as some think.
