I've been looking into the Wise Food Storage buckets and just haven't bought any yet. I keep a good supply of food at the house in case something happens but I'd like something like this freeze dried stuff with the longer shelf life.
titties!!!

Atlanticfirearms.com sells them. Pretty good food options too.

Yea, atlantic and Buds both sell them. I think buds may have the better price. Dont quote me on that though.

On vacation, but y'all need to check what temperature that long term food requires.
Usually can't get above 75 or shelf life decreases dramatically.
Plus, titties are always welcome in any disaster.

Dr Smack, I am looking to add a few more medical books to my library.
I have a few first aid books. Looking to get something like Grey's Anatomy.
I just ordered 'The Doom & Bloom Survival Medical Handbook' by Dr Joseph Alton & Amy Alton, ARNP.
Any other good medical reference books that you could recommend for the average OTard?

BTW, I am interested to see ya'lls recommendation on this from Sams.
If ya want get a bare-bones food supply, get a few 5-gallon plastic buckets(food grade, some good lids) Avoid any buckets that had chemicals in it.
Get about 30 pds of rice.
Assortment of dried beans, pinto, red, white.
A few pounds of salt.
Store in these your buckets. Get some O2 absobers for your beans(hand warmers are the same thing).
Bland list but it will keep you alive if the SHTF for a few months.
Get you a good Coleman Stove, a few 1 pd cylinders of propane.
A few cases of bottled water. Some unscented liquid bleach for water. Get a few water containers like Aqua-tainers.(keep water out of sunlight, sunlight promotes algea growth)
Invest in a good water filter system: Sawyer is the best. Katadyn is a good one. Big Berkey, Monolithic are good alternatives...
This, along with guns and ammo and some common sense will get you though a SHTF scenrio.

I know this may sound crazy, but when I can find a good/great deal, or get something free or almost free (with coupons), I stockpile atleast a year+ worth of supplies. I have enough toilet paper, papertowel, razors, over the counter meds, cleaning supplies, trash bags, toothpaste, soap, baby wipes, paper plates, etc. to last a good 18 months.
We got a shite ton of MRIs from the last hurricane and a bunch of tarps as well.
So when the zombies come, I can supply the entertainment and household supplies
