Well that settles it.

. So what matters to them is their chance to win
That's why I named good small market teams.

Exposure = Endorsements
Durant and Duncan have plenty of both.
IMO, winning with what you have can make your team more attractive to free agents.
New Orleans will never be Miami, Los Angeles or New York. But a culture of making good personnel moves and winning on the floor can make them attractive to those FAs.
They have a long way to go, but I just don't buy that "big names don't want to play in the poor south". If they can win and get paid they will sign.

Spurs have been in the playoffs every year since they drafted Duncan and they still can't attract top free agents.

They can get paid and get more exposure in the bigger markets. Not sure why you can't see it especially with this recent crop of stars.

What endorsements do Duncan have? Serious question. And winning and being good is the cure because no one was paying attention to Durant and west brook until they continually got good.
Heady, you're a dumbass.
And big names do want to come to a small market team but it depends on the organization. And there are some who just want money on top of money, and they aren't coming. I can see someone coming down here this year or something being in the works with a big name type player this year.

Define big name free agent please.
If you are talking about the $20 million superstar level free agent, Lebron/Melo/etc. those guys aren't coming. If you're talking about the tier beneath them, the Iggy's and Josh Smith's then yes, those guys will come once AD matures and this becomes a winning team. But no big name star is coming here to be AD's #2. At best you'd find a guard who would be willing to be #1b.
