I've heard great things about this place from people who ate at the one in Baton Rouge. This has a better location and building I would assume since it's on the river in River Ranch. I read where he is adding a few more things on the menu that will make more sense in Lafayette. The menu looks amazing with the redfish etc.

I never knew he played O-line for LSU and was an All American

Never asked, never really cared until now I guess, but what exactly is Ruffin to Ruffino's? I thought TJ owned it, just like he did when it was Dinardo's. is Ruffin a figure head, manager, part owner?

So did his father !

Any indication of what this means?

It's going to be interesting to observe how this place does. I don't think they will succeed, and not because of the food (I have never eaten at Ruffinos). I think that location/space is going to be challenging for any restaurant. It's big, very big, and I have to think the overhead on that place puts the occupant in a deep hole that any concept/chef/restauranteur would be challenged to overcome.
