To the OP, that's exactly what I would want.

Why not move up jones? He has hit over .400 in his last 23 games! He does s o a lot though!

Actually, clearly, he is giving the "batting order", otherwise known as the "lineup". Not really sure what youre getting at there. Also, Laird batting 2nd would be a huge mistake.
