Episode 8 tonight!
Please note the rules below before continuing on.
1. This thread is for non book-readers only. We don't need any help from book readers in developing our theories.
2. If we ask a question in this thread, it is to generate discussion with other illiterates. If you are a lurking book reader, please do not use a question as an excuse to start posting in this thread.
3. There are two other threads related to this one episode. If you are a book reader, post in those. If you are a non book-reader and want to discuss the show with book readers, please go post in the middle ground thread started by PsychTiger.
4. Book readers: Even if our theories are so absurd and wrong, and you find yourself unable to breathe because you are laughing so hard, please go die in a fire before posting here. Also, even if someone stumbles upon the perfect theory of how shite goes down, please go die in a fire before posting here.
5. There are some book readers who, even after much pleading and calm requests, refuse to stay away and allow us to discuss this show amongst ourselves. Please just ignore them. They don't want your responses, they want your attention.

Hopefully I have time to watch this tonight

I tried reading the books. They suck compared to the show.
Posted on 5/19/13 at 11:23 am to makinskrilla
I started reading the first and it was the exact same as the show, so it was kind of hard to get into. I've heard they get a little different as you get further into them. I might try to start reading the 3rd one over the summer

Yeah the first book is really tough because its so much like the first season. But you need to read it. There's a thing or two in there that gives you a lightbulb to a theory that you can't get with the show.
And yeah apparently they get different. I'm barely into book 2. Will start reading over summer now that I have more time

Who the hell is the Titan?

I can give y'all page number of the important dreams and prophesies in the first book because, yes, it is almost exactly the same. Can be rough after watching the show first

I wanna be on the list with the rest of the smart people, please.

The ones smart enough to read the books but not the rules to this thread?
Posted on 5/19/13 at 12:11 pm to Titus Pullo
You must not be on the list then?

I'm an infamous bookreader here!!! As to your question though you will be fine skipping the first book. It's more descriptive but essentially the same as the tv show. I'd say start on the 2nd book if you want to read the books and you have seen the tv show already.

I watched the first season at least 5 times before I read the book. I still think you should read the first book. Give you some good background.
It's hard to get through but especially if you have only seen season 1 once you should read it

Read from the start. It's great and will make you know the characters even better. Plus there's one huge scene missing in the show that's in the books.
