yeah, if I hadn't gotten Tyrus Thomas and Darrel Mitchell to sign my Kent Lowe face on a stick I would have forgotten all about the final 4 run they made.

ask the players to sign dozens of autographs for you

It's a question to all asking why is it wrong to get a college star's autograph. Yes you lose pride asking a record holder from your alma mater to sign a jersey or football to put in your game or collection room. Do you know how crazy that sounds?

Hilarious!
I'll make sure he gives you a copy of the fake will which leaves you millions from an old aunt.

I get the OPs point. I do also agree if people want autos for themselves, more power to them regardless of age. I think the OPs point is this wasn't someone getting Autos for himself to put on a shelf or 2 autos for him and a friend. Its people out there getting 20-30 to turn around and sell while the people behind them who just wants one for their wall is shafted. I can remember someone showing up to the spring game a few years ago with a JH football team, all getting the all American members autographs. I do also remember that line being cut off after a certain amount of time and A LOT of people were turned away. The next week, 2 balls from this guy were put up on ebay for 900 bucks. This is just one incident and it happens often. I think this was what the OP was hitting on and I couldn't agree more. I have a few autographs but not many as its not my thing but I can understand some people wanting them. I despise people who take away from fans/kids due to greed

If my young son or daughter wanted an autograph of an LSU player, I'd wait in line with them to get one (even though I really wouldn't want to). However, as an adult, I'd feel like a huge loser hanging around a locker room to get the autograph of an 18-20 year old kid just for my own gratification. That's just me though. If other adults want to do it, then that's their decision.

He does that for every fan day and also grabs armloads of game used jerseys when they go on sale, walks over to a table, picks out the ones he wants, leaves the rest on the table and sells them on eBay at a 400% markup. There are collectors, then there are sellers.

how special would it be to say you got a ball, program, poster, etc. signed by this team
meh. what difference does it make? does some 19 year old kid putting his j. hancock on your ball enhance your experience? If your answer is yes I have no hope for you.

Years ago, my father-in-law wanted a poster signed by players and coaches at the LSU meet the players day...I didn't want to wait in line anyway, so i just signed it myself several times - more as a joke than anything else. He never knew the difference, and it's still hanging in his house, matted and framed.
only thing to make this better is if you typed up a certificate of authenticity to go along side it.
