but he looks like a man amongst boys doing it and that shouldn't change much in the NBA because of how big and athletic he is.

Really? Going from that level competition to NBA grown arse mens?

You have an opinion on Gobert?
Honestly not really, because nobody's really been projecting him top 10. I watched a little of him today. He has some nice video on his website though... LINK

I haven't watched much of it, but I wanna see how well he runs the court. Thats what i was trying to find in those highlights. We know the size unbelievable so the blocks and dunks are nice, but if he lumbers up and down the court i'm not really interested.

Didn't Chad Ford or one of those guys say that Gobert was doing that against 2nd level French competition?
That was the African/Greek 6'10" point forward.

Here's a video he runs in (at 2:30 min mark)

Watched a couple of videos. He's more athletic than I thought he'd be, but not very athletic if that makes sense.

I don't think he'll be our pick though. He's slooooow on the defensive end. And maybe I don't notice this on other big men, but it looks like he has a 6' vertical jump that looks strained.

Rudy Gobert officially measured a 7-8 1/2 wingspan and a 9-7 standing reach. Both records. Gorgui Dieng had 2nd longest reach. #nbacombine

Otto Porter was big with a 6'7.5" in socks and 6' 8.5" in shoes measurement . He has a very big 7'1.5" wing.

I like that.

That's going to hurt Noel.

But I don't think that will be enough to drop him since no one stands out in this draft and every filled the crapped during the tournament.

Dude can probably grab rim while on tip toes. Still doesn't make him a great basketball player. Look at paul sturgess. I need to see a lot of drills and tests before I'm willing to say he'sbetter than javale mcgee

Jesus. This may make me change my mind on him. I'm 206, but 6'2". That's beanpole skinny. That's Michael Jackson skinny when he was in court for molestation. I think he was 6' 125 at that time.

Eta. Reggie Miller was about 6'7". 195.

But he's heavier than Manute. 7'7" 200

I don't think it's fair to judge his weight too much. He is definitely too skinny, but he is also coming off of a major injury. He doesn't want to add a bunch of weight without being on his feet/recovered.

I still am hesitant on him, though

The problem will be his ability to gain and maintain weight. He already has a small frame and now he's going to have to gain 15-20 pounds to get on the floor. Brandan Wright had weight issues for years and is only finally able to stay on the court.

I'll try to edit the op tomorrow with everyone's heights... in europe within the past year gobert was listed at 6'11". Are we sure he doesn't have a pituitary tumor? Srs.

If not something may be up with the measurements. A guy in europe is always a couple inches shorter till they get to the nba.

I hear ya. But that's awfully skinny.

Damn, I liked him. I can't see him banging with NBA PFS and C's. right now at least. I think it'd take him at least 3 years to develop an NBA body. We don't have that luxury.

Trey Burke or trade. Final answer.

Im officially off the gobert wagon. His team in france didn't start him and he apparently can't put the ball on the ground ordo anything in the post aside from catching lobs. His weight is listed at 220. Interesting defensively but I don't see him getting past mid first round. Would make a good fit at okc imo

KG ok. The other guys? They are, or will be working for FED EX in the next couple years.

And I know Chris Johnson went to LSU. Perfect example. Not a top 6 pick.

Yeah, KG has always had an offensive game. Noel doesn't. And KG doesn't tend to bang too much with 5s.

I did see where Noel weighed in at 216 last year. May have lost weight rehabbing. He could at least be doing some curls or something.

KG had 11lbs on him as an 18 year old. Noel is 206 at 19.
