They have also said during several games that he told teams if he wasn't a 1st rounder, he would go to LSU. I think I remember them saying a team called him in the 2nd round and he said the same thing.

They tell his story every at bat. Do any of you watch or listen to the games?
1st round talent broke a bone in his hand and couldn't play much his senior year. He let every MLB team know if he wasn't drafted in round 1, he would go to LSU. They picked him in round 29 and so we have 3 years with Alex.

Well in combination with his below average size and question marks about his position, it will drop you considerably.
A team is not willing to take a chance on a guy who didn't play a whole season and has positional/size question marks.
