I don't have a ladyfriend as of now, but I think it's a common misconception that they HAVE to have a small revolver for home defense.
If she chooses a revolver for simplicity, no problems there. But the main reason women don't "have enough strength" to rack the slide is because they don't do it right. The overhand method of pushing both of your hands together is the correct way to rack the slide, not just pulling it back with the tips of your index finger and thumb.
Besides that, I do agree with most in that a 20 gauge can be handled easily by anyone and packs one hell of a punch.

Deserves a separate thread of its own!! I call the second method the hollywood pinch n pulling. Pushing the hands together spits the chambered round in my hand when clearing. Pinching spits it on the ground!
