I did a simple google search of "eric gordon microfracture" and got 33,000 links.
And they all seem to be repeating the same story from November which refers back to the original time he was told by a single team doctor according to this TP story:
quote:
“This has been a mystery from the beginning,” the source said. “When he injured it (at Phoenix), he came back and he was checked out. (Hornets) doctors looked at him, and they got an opinion and (one of the doctors said), it wasn’t just a small tear in the meniscus, ‘I think he needs microfracture surgery.’ Just the word microfracture freaked Eric out.”
Gordon sought additional opinions in New York and Indianapolis.
“None of them said he needed microfracture surgery,” the source said. “At that point, he didn’t trust (the Hornets) medical team. So he started doing his own thing and what he felt was right. The whole time, every doctor he went to said, ‘He just needs rest.’ The best of the best doctors were saying he just needed rest. It was always week to week. I can’t believe it’s been this long.”

As far as I've read there's been no other mention of microfracture beyond the initial one. Have you seen a reference to microfracture surgery that appears to be different than what the TP laid out here?

he needs another guy who can get his own shot and an actual system for late game situations.
Definitely this.
Our late game situations were so predictable last season. All opposing teams had to do was deny Gordon or Ryno the ball, and the possession ended up with a Vasquez prayer. But y'all know I think Monty is responsible for part of that.
We need a scoring 3.

I haven't actively looked. I remember during the month he was resting his knee in camp that he was seeking other medical opinions and it was brought up again. I found the article referencing ESPN and Broussard, but if he isn't a good source you can disregard. I remember that article from TP though and it did a good job summing it all up. It's funny though, if you look at the next paragraph after the ones you posted..
"Ultimately, Gordon underwent an arthroscopic procedure Feb. 14 that, he said, cleaned out loose cartilage particles, enabling him to return to play seven games in the final two weeks of the season."
So all of the doctors in New York and Indy were wrong and rest wasn't enough, right?

Yeah, the whole "rookie" thing is kind of deceiving with him.

The only way I can see us keeping him is if we land CP3 and that isn't gonna happen.
If we landed CP3 and another solid piece in the draft, this team would be sick. Since that isn't gonna happen, ship his mopey arse out of here seems to be the best option.
