Which is then topped by Anakin/Vader just wanting to use Luke as his apprentice to rule the galaxy.
Vader wanted Luke to help him overthrow the Emperor. I think the Emperor wanted Luke so he could get rid of Vader. Luke was a much more powerful Jedi than Vader. Plus, secretly, I always thought Palpatine knew Vader wasn't all into the dark side. Vader, at his roots, was not an evil man. Lucas portrayed Anakin as a deeply conflicted youth who was corrupted by his quest for power, despite the fact that his intentions where good. He went out of his way in ROTS to point this out. Therefore, if he found out Palpatine lied to him, wouldn't it call into question everything the emperor had told him thus far?
To imply that Vader was pissed and trying to convert Luke to overthrow the Emperor completely negates the throneroom scene in Jedi. If Vader was mad at the Emperor, why the final duel? Why threaten to corrupt his sister? Why not turn around at that point and go, "Really? Not only do you lie to me about my son, but my daughter as well?"

One more thing illustrating why this works for the original trilogy but not the prequels: In Jedi after Luke turns himself in, he and Vader are speaking on Endor and Luke tells him that he still feels the good in him. Vader responds "Its to late for me, my son." This implies that Vader doesn't have a choice. That doesn't sound like someone who is trying to recruit his son to overthrow the a-hole who lied about his family. In the context of the original trilogy, it works just fine, because we dont know about Padme, and theres no reason to believe Vader has any external issues with Palpatine until he throws him into the Death Star reactor.

The Emperor isn't all knowing. I don't think the Emperor ever knew of Luke being Anakin's son until the Death Star explosion, and he still didn't know about Leia.
