I think I agree with you Carson as a whole I believe I liked Oblivion more as well ... though there are aspects of Skyrim that I preferred ... I don't there was just something to Oblivion that made me enjoy it a little more.

It's really the faction missions that did it for me. Thieves Guild with Gray Fox, Dark Brotherhood ESPECIALLY. I also really just enjoyed the towns a lot more. Imperial City was amazing. Yeah, Skyrim did a lot of things better, but it just didn't have the awe factor that oblivion had for me

Thieves Guild with Gray Fox
I agree that DB was better on Oblivion. But DB on Morrowind was infinitely better still.

witcher 2
Why would they assume everyone read the obscure novels?
Not a huge thing, but irritated me the whole game.
Never liked Deus Ex, in any incarnation.
And Dark Souls seems to turn people into douchebags

Maybe it's because I was never in to the elder scrolls games before Skyrim, but I did nothing but crap my pants the first week of playing that.

Morrowind had the awe factor.
Exploring my first Dwemer ruin was amazing.
Oblivion gave us the PoB and Dwemer ruins, which were intriguing if repetitive.
Skyrim gave us Dwemer ruins, Snow elf ruins, and the most visually badass addition yet. . .Blackreach.
I just wish they did more with Blackreach.

I didn't think I would ever leave that place. First it was just the awe factor. Then I really didn't know how to leave

I was hellbent on exploring every inch of that place, and then had no clue where I was. I was shocked to see so many giants and trolls in there.

trolls
The surprise factor.
You are sprinting through the forest, and you hear a growl. . .you turn and he is running right at you.
Granted, after level 15, they are really easy.

Skyrim was awesome until my mage character became OP. Still a great game in my book.

Agree on all accounts

I don't remember Blackreach. I guess I never got that far.

Typically with Skryim, it's never about how far you get. It's did you happen to come across that area. I can't remember what quest actually took me there, or if I was just aimlessly wandering around.
