Giordano's, Gino's East, and Lou Malnati's are the best pizza places. I'm not the biggest fan of the deep dish style as it makes me feel like shite after since it's so heavy, but it's still delicious
Great city. Have fun
Try Al's as well if you have time.

Public House is fun, but it's usually packed. Give it a shot.

Amazing Italian Beef sandwiches. Make it hot.
ETA: It's downtown and walking distance. Good cheap alternative for lunch.

Girl and The Goat. Best meal I've ever had for sure. Try the goat belly if they have it.
I also recommend going to an authentic restaurant in Greek town.
Giordanos is one of those places you have to go, but I wasn't that impressed.

Graham Elliot is one hell of a meal. Depending on how up tight you're looking for, alinea is reminiscent of the type of experience you'll receive at per se or the French laundry.

Lou Malnati's
Haven't had Lou Malnati's in years. Always liked it.
No Uno's?
My recomendation is always this place
Reza's Restaurant
Click if you dare
We go to the one on 5255 N. Clark - about a quarter mile north of Wrigley Field on the same side of Clark
You could do the one on Ontario if you are downtown, but a cab would get you to N Clark quickly and that location is the original.
If you like Lamb or Kabob, this is the place. Last time I was there, they only took cash. It is a restaurant I would take my very best customer. It is that nice, and the prices are very reasonable - the food out of this world. Get the dill rice and leg of lamb. You will think you are in heaven.
Oh - find a Portillo's and get an italian beef. They are all over town and their Italian beef will make you want to move to Chicago.
Here are the locations

Original Uno's is a cool spot to hit but it's not the best pizza IMO. Lou malnatis clearly split off years back to prove they had better pizza. Still good by most standards, just not Chicago's
I recommend drinking on top of the Hancock tower at night as well. Expensive as hell but awesome view of the entire city.
ETA: Alinea is possibly the most expensive place I've ever walked by certainly a place to only try once if you aren't rich!

My old boss lived about 8 blocks north of Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue - 12th floor condo - Private elevator to their floor outside the door of their condo - no key - no stop on the 12th floor. She and her husband bought Mike Royko's old condo after his wife died. The Husband and Mike played bridge together.
This place was knock down special. The front wall of their living room was all windows looking out across Lake Michigan. The south wall was all windows looking back down Michigan Avenue toward Water Tower and Hancock Building.
They had the good life.

That's an outstanding position and view man. Chicago is one of the few northern cities I could probably move to. I love it there. Such an eclectic city with so much to do.

Chicago is a fantastic city for sure. Such great architecture.

I forgot the name but there is a great steak house where I had a tomahawk steak. I think it's the only one in town that does a tomahawk steak.

"Chicago" is a big place, so it would help to know where you were and what type of experience you're looking for.
If you like beer, hit up Goose Island brewpub in Wrigleyville. They have excellent pub food, and many beers that they don't bottle. Last time I was there they had at least three different stouts of theirs on tap.
Out towards O'Hare in Wheeling, there's Bob Chinn's crab house who feature a seemingly crazy combination of sashimi, Kona crab and a killer Mai Tai, which sounds outlandish, but somehow it works.
I'll second the Uno recommendation as far as pizza. Be it known that Chicago Za is a whole different animal than you're probably used to.
