This is one of my biggest pet peeves. You drafted the guy 15th overall to come in and start right away. If you didn't, then you shouldn't have drafted him in the first round. End of story.

More simple thinking.

You are assuming that there was someone else on the board that the team though could come in and start right away...and you are assuming that the team doesn't think that way about Vaccaro.

In the end, if Vaccaro becomes a pro-bowler, but doesn't start until year two, it would be idiotic to call it a bad pick.

Wait a minute, is there a list of successful first round draft choices that didn't start right away . . . meaning first part of the firs season? Point being, it kind of depends upon the position and long term needs.

Meh not necessarily. You drafted this guy to become the eventual leader of your secondary and to greatly improve the long term outlook of the defense. Why do I have the feeling had we had drafted one of your precious pass rushers you would've been ok with him being a situational rusher while he learned the position in the NFL?
