Goes both ways. The cops are assholes too. If you don't ride off at 10mph or salute them before leaving, they get mad. Especially leaving them without doughnuts.

Always carry pro police literature. Window stickers are particularly effective.

The bottom line is, if Simon would have only said "OK" then he wouldnt have inflamed the situation and he wouldnt have just detrimented his own check book. You have to be a really stupid person to get arrested on draft day.

Regardless of what happened in this case...I'm a respectful guy and am respectful to most people when I deal with them. what that means is I treat police officers with the same respect I treat anyone else...no differently. that also means that they can lose that respect just as easily as some regular a-hole. The fact that they have a badge does not in ANY WAY allow them greater leeway in terms of the respect they deserve.
You want to be respected...you earn it. You don't get it automatically by your clothing or job title.
NOTE: I, like everyone else ion this thread, know almost nothing about what actually happened, so there's no point in speculating on it as far as I'm concerned.
